India ITME society’s ‘Academy Industry Connect’ Initiative, is a platform for textile students to stay up to date with the industry trends, opportunities and plan a prosperous career path in the textile industry. With this vision, India ITME Society organized a lecture by expert faculty on the topic of “Digitization and sustainability – two drivers for the textile industry”. This session was presented by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Yves – Simon Gloy of RWTH Aachan Institute of Textile Technology, Germany. This Session provided valuable industry insights for students and faculty from Textile & Textile Engineering universities along with the opportunity to learn the latest knowledge being pursued in western universities on the subject. The goal of this session was to provide students and faculties from Textile Engineering and other relevant backgrounds an opportunity to learn as well as add value to their profiles.
This session was attended by students & faculties from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, Institute of chemical technology, Sasmira’s Institute of Man-Made Textiles, National Institute of Fashion Technology, Le Mark School of Art & Design, K K Wagh College of Engineering and Technology Nashik and Jawaharlal Darda Institute of engineering and technology – Yavatmal. The session followed a brief presentation on “History of Indian Postal Service” by Ms. Swati Pandey, Postmaster General, (Mumbai Region), Govt. of India, made a scintillating presentation on “History of Indian Postal Service”, educating audience about the services rendered by the Indian Postal Department even in the toughest of the tough conditions & how India Post plays a part not only in our heritage but also in our day to day lives even in today’s digital times.
In order to encourage the youth towards the industry opportunities and to add value to their professional journey, India ITME Society offered Students a Certificate of participation towards attending this session which was presented to the students by the Chief Guest – Justice Shri. P. Sathasivam (Former Chief Justice of India & Ex – Governor of Kerala)
India ITME Society kept this session free of cost to ensure maximum student outreach. This session showcased best case practices from countries such as Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Kenya, Bhutan and many more; provided a glimpse of the future of textile technology to the students and ensured expert guidance to the faculty to lead their students into a prosperous career ahead.
