VENUE

Bangalore International Exhibition Centre is spread across 40 acres near Peenya industrial township of Bangalore. A unique feature of this complex is that it will be the first “green project” of this magnitude in India. BIEC comprises :

Exhibition Facility :

This facility comprises three large halls, which can accommodate 40,000 square metres of exhibition space. The entire area has no pillars, thereby, providing tremendous flexibility to exhibition organisers in laying out their stalls and exhibits.

Under-the-floor ducting for power, water, compressed air and telecommunication networks will facilitate easy and smooth movement across the exhibition space. The floor has a load-bearing capacity of 30 tonnes per square metre, which is sufficient to accommodate very heavy exhibits like large machine tools, earth moving equipment, textile machinery and big compressors.

The exhibition halls are air-cooled by energy-consuming adiabatic cooling technology. An arched roof gives a spacious and environment-freshness feeling to exhibitors and visitors.

Every hall has been provisioned with a management office for use by exhibition organisers as well as an exclusive protocol lounge to accommodate VIP visitors. The main food court is in close proximity to the exhibition halls – to service the needs of a large volume of visitors and exhibitors at any given point of time.

Conference Complex :

This consists of four air-conditioned conference halls in over 5,600 square metres of built-up space. Seating capacities of the halls range from 120 to 1500.

The complex boasts several eco-friendly features such as :

  • Utilisation of 50 % fly ash (a waste material from coal-based thermal power plants) in the cement concrete mix used in its construction.
  • An air-conditioning system that does not use Chloro Fluoro Carbons (CFCs), which can harm the Earth's Ozone layer.
  • Water based adiabatic cooling in the halls.
  • Extensive rain water harvesting system to protect ground water level in the project area.
  • Halls designed in such a manner that natural lighting is sufficient for most purposes during daytime.

The complex is enabled with latest gadgetry for modern-day conferencing and business-to-business events. It also has adequate space for registration facilities, holding concurrent exhibitions as well as for other support facilities including exclusive areas for meals and for enabling one-to-one discussions.

Training Centre :

This centre encompasses a hi-tech computer lab connected with 50 work-stations. It also includes small halls for holding technical seminars and workshops.

This centre will also house the IMTMA Design Institute – the country's first private institution for training young engineers on the latest in design skills as well as the proposed IMTMA Productivity Training Centre.

STRATEGIC ALLIANCE

IMTMA has also signed a strategic partnership agreement with Deutsche Messe AG – owners of world's largest exhibition facility in Hannover, Germany for organising exhibitions at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre and also for promoting this complex worldwide.

Deutsche Messe will extend support to IMTMA for training personnel as well as for software & know-how for handling exhibition requirements, logistics, fair facilities, etc.
