he India International Textile Machinery Exhibitions Society (India ITME Society) is the vehicle which promotes international textile engineering exhibitions. The institution is a registered society and has been in existence for the last 28 years. The next Global Textile Engineering Exhibition, INDIA ITME 2008, to be held from 15-22 November 2008 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), 10th Mile, Tumkur Road, Madavara Post, Dasanapura Hobli, Bangalore – 562123, Karnataka (India). The Society has so far organized 7 international textile machinery exhibitions at four-year intervals from 1980. The exhibition to be held in November 2008 is 8th in the series.

The ITME Society is promoted, among others, by the two leading textile engineering organizations viz., The Textile Machinery Manufactuers' Association (India) and Indian Textile Accessories and Machinery Manufacturers' Association. The other promoters are the apex organization of the user textile industry viz., Confederation of Indian Textile Industry, the Indian organization of textile technologists viz., The Textile Association (India) and The Bureau of Indian Standards, a Government of India organization.

The INDIA ITME 2008 covers an gross area of 42,500 sq. mtrs. distributed in 3 air-conditioned halls at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, Bangalore (India). There will be about 700 participants consisting of 450 Indian and 250 foreign units. The exhibition has attracted participants from more than 30 overseas countries. The Indian participants include all the premier producers of machinery, components and accessories. Similarly, all the prominent makers of textile engineering products from abroad have booked space in INDIA ITME 2008.

The business visitors to the exhibition have been going up regularly during the last shows. It is anticipated that INDIA TIME 2008 will attract over 1,25,000 textile visitors. In order to ensure maximum compliment of business visitors, the India ITME Society is organizing Roadshows in important textile producing centres abroad and similarly, Roadshows are being held in textile producing centres in India.

The exhibition promotes and disseminates information on latest development in the field of technology relating to the textile machinery and accessories. The main purpose of the exhibition is to update and educate the textile and allied industries on the technological innovations and progress taking place in the manufacture of machines and accessories. The state-of-the-art machines are demonstrated in live conditions at the exhibition so that mills, textile professionals and technologists can benefit greatly from the same.

This is the largest exhibitions of its kind in India . It showcases the latest exhibits and will be a catalyst for the modernization, expansion and re-equipment of the textile units.
